Autodesk VIZ Retirement & Transition to New 3ds Max Design Autodesk have announced the retirement of Autodesk Viz and the launch of new 3ds Max Design 2009 software tailored to the needs of architects, designers, engineers, and visualization specialists.
Between now and the 31st March 2009 Autodesk will be discontinuing Autodesk VIZ software and any associated support services. During this period there will be a closely managed transition available for VIZ customers to move to 3ds Max Design 2009. New commercial licenses of Autodesk VIZ 2008 will be available for purchase until August 1st, 2008. However existing VIZ subscriptions will no longer be available for renewal or for purchase. Standard technical support services will continue to be available until March 31st, 2009.
Existing Autodesk Viz customers, with an active Viz Subscription can benefit from a one-off cross-grade promotion from Autodesk VIZ to 3ds Max Design 2009. The standard cross-upgrade price from current Viz to Max Design is £525. However, until the 15th July 2008, customers with active Viz Subscriptions can cross-grade to 3ds Max Design for just £189!
